How Payments Work

All rides are paid for directly from your in-app wallet. Similar to a prepaid digital balance, you can top up your wallet using a payment method like a bank card. You must link a payment method before starting a rental, which is done by making an initial small wallet top-up. The amount can be as little as R1.00, and is required to verify your payment method.

Open Account Page

Linking a payment method and topping up your wallet is done on the Account page of the mobile app. Navigate to it by tapping the You button in the bottom bar of the app. This will open the Account page, and you should see your name displayed at the top.

Top Up Wallet / Link Payment Method

Tap the Top Up button in the WALLET BALANCE section. This will open a Wallet Topup popup. Once here, select the amount you would like to add to your wallet - choose R1.00 if you would like to link a payment method without adding a significant amount to your wallet. Scroll down and make sure Save card is checked if you would like to link your payment method.

Make Payment

Tap Proceed to Checkout. This will open an in-app Checkout webpage where you can complete the payment. All payments are handled through our payment provider, Paystack, which means that we (Bunnihop) never handle your card details directly. Enter your payment details and then click Pay. If the payment was successful, a Wallet Topped Up! message will be shown, and your wallet balance will update live after a few seconds.

Alternatively, if you have already linked a payment method, you can select it from the list of saved bank cards and skip this step. Tapping Pay will immediately charge your payment method and top up your wallet.

If your wallet balance does not update after 30 seconds, ensure you have a stable internet connection. If it still does not update, contact our support team regarding the issue.
