Ending a Ride

Learn how to return the bike to a dropoff zone, lock the bike, and end a ride.

1

Return to Dropoff Zone

Use the map on the mobile app to find the dropoff zone nearest to you. Tap Map on the bottom bar to navigate to the Map page. Once open, look for red shapes around University of Pretoria Hatfield or Hillcrest campuses. Each of these shapes represents a dropoff zone, and the area inside them is where you may leave a bike to end your rental. Choose one that's convenient to reach, and bring the bike to it. Once you're inside the dropoff zone on the map, it should turn green. When this happens, you can proceed to the next step.

2

Lock the Bike

Unlock the bike lock as shown here. Once unlocked, put one end of the bike lock through the bike's frame, and pull the other end around an immovable object like a bike rack or lamp post. Every dropoff zone has one of these things. Next, attach both ends of the bike lock so that it's closed. Then mix up all of the dials/tumblers on the lock so that it cannot be opened again without the code.

3

End Ride

The bike should now be locked up securely, and out of the way of any paths/walkways. On the mobile app Home page, find the ride that you want to end, and then tap End Ride. Your location will be checked, and if you're inside a dropoff zone, you will be asked to take a photo of the bike. If you're not inside a dropoff zone, you will be taken to the Map page and shown the direction to the dropoff zone closest to you.

4

Submit Verification Photo

Use the shutter button at the bottom or right side of the screen to take a photo of the locked up bicycle. Try to include the lock and entire bicycle in the photo. If you're happy with the photo, tap Submit. Otherwise, tap Retry and take another photo. After the photo has been submitted, your location is double checked and the ride is submitted for review. The rental timer stops.

5

Review

Our team will review the ride/bicycle to make sure it's been locked up securely and is not obstructing any paths/walkways. If this is found to not be the case, a fee may apply.
